About N-Compass Chorus
N-Compass Chorus is a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We have an extraordinary group of women from ages 17-90 from all walks of life, and all parts of Dickinson and Western North Dakota, joined together through our mutual love of music!
Performance
The main purpose of N-Compass Chorus is to sing for our community. We can be heard throughout the year, singing for civic and charitable organizations, business, private groups, churches, community events and fundraisers. We usually have an annual show in October and perform a free Christmas show for the community in early December. We also do singing Valentines on February 14th as well as birthdays and anniversaries. Education
In addition to sharing our music with others, we are interested in learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple of times a year, we will have the opportunity for coaching from a visiting master in the art of barbershop, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade.
Quartets
Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. N-Compass Chorus currently is home to several wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! Visit the "About" page and select "Quartets" to learn more about them.
